la granja numero uno!

So, this is Argentina! Or atleast a little middle-o-nowhere pocket in the Pampas Region. (About 6 hours driving south of BA...) Its super beautiful and reminded me a lot of Indiana, if it was surrounded by mountains!  The farm we were on was a start up permaculture instutute, Instituto Na Lu'um. (it's Mayan for Earth) We lived with Tierra and his daughter Itiva and one other wwoofer Frank from France. Tierra has only been on the land for 4 months now and the farm is totally running already! The crops and animals were already pretty established however there was a lot of work for us : ) In the month that we stayed we established the herb garden and the community cooking area, along with planting an insane amount of beans, rosemary, and aloe plants!

(the cemetery in Tornquist about a 15 minute drive from the farm...)
Birthday dinner at Graciela's...she and her parents we're amazing neighbors and she's pretty much the reason Tal and I are conversational en espanol : ) (from l to r: Frank, Tierra, Graciela's dad and mom (you cant see mom!) Graciela and Natalia!)
(our second mountain climb! the top of Bahia Blanca)
(fernet n coke...a new favorite drink)
(I've been making art!)
(the natural construction house we got to work on! this was an aMAZing experience, starting with mashing together dirt, water, and poop with our feet in a trench and then building up walls and windows on the inside...the entire house is made from natural materials in the area by hundreds of people in 40 days..and counting : )

(Tal n I walking home : )
